Greetings and glad to meet you!
Allow me to introduce myself:
I’m Allison, a mid-30-something single mom who generally has a lot to say.
My blogging history goes back to 1998, when some poor soul stumbled upon my Geocities page, and suggested that I might enjoy Xanga. While I didn’t keep that journal up for long (I’m an ENFP; these things are to be expected), the experience provided me with a glimpse of things to come — and just enough exposure that I can claim that I’m not just “jumping on the bandwagon.” (hardeeharharhar…god, I’m special) My *real* blogging history began in May 2003, when I entered into a counseling relationship with a good friend I knew online — and online only. Keeping a password-protected blogger site allowed me to do a brain dump for him that would have taken months in traditional therapy. It wouldn’t work for most people, but for us, it was a success. As I have time to “clean” the posts, old info from that blog may begin to appear in this site’s archives.
More recently, I started a public blog (formerly Blogger, more recently, converted to WP) to chronicle my daughter’s growth and development. As time has passed, I’ve found that there are posts I’d love to write and share with a broader Internet audience that simply wouldn’t be suitable for a “baby blog” — so here we are.
It’s late, and I should head to bed…but more will come later, in the form of a 100 Things page. Stay tuned!

It’s a double meaning, I suppose…my weak attempt at being wry and clever. This blog is my dumping ground for all kinds of things:
- thoughts on life
- rants and raves
- questions and comments about spirituality
- vents about the experience of being a single mom from the get-go
