Three-five. Seven-seventeen-seventy-one.
Published by Allison July 17th, 2006 in Amuse Me, This-n-ThatWhy is it that 30 felt like nothing — no different, no older, nada — but 35 feels so momentous? Beats the hell outta me.
My birthday wish is that, if you’re lurking, you delurk for a minute and tell me who you are, how you got here, and why you stop by. Yes, you heard me. For my birthday, I’m playing comment whore.

Oh my god, you didn’t tell me it was your birthday!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I come here because I like your writing style, you have good thoughts, and I think you and Maya are the cutest!
Your honestly and no-bullshit attitude are also immensely refreshing. In a world of blogs dedicated to self-righteous fundamentalist puppy dogs, your blog is a refreshing oasis of girl power and self-effacing humor.
It’s because now you’re closer to 40 (wry grin from someone who will be 41 in November). 40 wasn’t bad, but I have a feeling 41 will be, because I’ll be officially “in” my 40’s. It helps to have the rugrats around, though, they keep us young!
Happy belated b-day! Yay for the second half of the thirties… I’m ten months from forty, and never been happier…
You know why I’m here of course…for the free beer that I can’t drink because of my medication. You can hoist it for me vicariously. I have 11 more months until I hit five zero and I am looking forward to it with glee and fascination. Isn’t 50 the new 35?
Mike
Hey, hope it was a great birthday - sorry I’m a few days behind everyone else. I got here through Maya’s site, and I found that…well…I don’t remember. I think through a friend of yours who also blogs, but that was a while ago and I don’t remember now.
I stop by for interesting perspective and gut-level honesty.
Happy Birthday!!
My life changed dramatically at 35 because I finally met a guy I love AND respect. About time! I feel younger than ever.
I come here for the perspective and writing.
Happy Belated Birthday! I found you through Mike. I love your absolute honesty. You rock!
