I’ve turned off the feature that requires people to sign in, because a couple people have alerted me that it’s preventing them from commenting at all.  SIGH.  Yet, at the same time, I had 93 new spam comments caught by Akismet since last night.

How long will it take, I wonder, for the extinction burst of spam to taper off?  I mean, I’d hope that since the spam never hits the site, I’d eventually vanish from the spambots’ viewfinder.  Then again, it’s not like they’re limited on resources.  Again, SIGH.
