Rick popped in from vacation to post I Hear Voices.

Do you hear voices?

I am on vacation and have taken some time away from blogging to visit relatives but thought I stick my head in blogworld to say hello.

It is interesting spending time with family and old friends for I hear the echo from the voices of the past reminding me of who I am or who I am not.

What voices do you believe?

What if all the voices that attempt to tell you who you are or who you are not are wrong?

He continued to talk about the importance of surrounding ourselves with those who speak positively about who we are…those who build us up.

While I completely agree with this, I’d like to add to it that it’s just as important that those positive voices make room for us to find ourselves. If someone tells me that I’m great, but also insists that I’d be a great auto mechanic, they’re still wrong. How do we go about filtering through all of the information society feeds us about who we are — to figure out what’s true and what’s not?

I don’t have answers on this, but at least wanted to start thinking about the questions. I want to be the best I can be, but I *really* want to be the best ME I can be. So what does that mean?
