I did it. I have a lunch date tomorrow.

The New Guy (NG) sent me a wink on match on Saturday night, and after I read his profile, I was interested enough that I shot him a short note thanking him for the wink, but warning that if he wanted to connect, it’d have to be soon, since my subscription expires soon(Thursday, to be exact). He sent back a shortish note with his real email and saying he’d get in touch.

Sunday morning, I got a second email in which he admitted he’d really only skimmed my profile, but reading it again was *impressed* (yay, me) — and that it sounds like we have quite a bit in common. For crying out loud, he actually said he believes himself to be an ENFP, although he was very shy when he was younger. Uh-oh…could that be TOO MUCH similarity? (grin)

Anyhoo, after a phone conversation (the sort where we were finishing each other’s sentences), more spooky similarities appeared: places we’ve lived, family background, etc. FTLOG, we drive the same year/model of vehicle, with the same number of miles (that’s just weird). And, we live about 3-5 minutes from each other…so *if* we hit it off, hanging out will be easy.

We’ll see. I’m interested, but learned long ago to never take coincidences as meaning that something is meant to be. Besides that, he’s a bit older (13 years, yikes)…but I’m not sure whether that will be an issue or not. He’s attractive, and most importantly, he SMILES.

Now, if I can just get over being self-conscious about the last 10 pounds of baby weight that’s still stuck to my hips…

Rest assured…he is NOT going to notice the ten pounds. You are a fascinating, intelligent, talented, gorgeous chick for cyring out loud. If he does notice ten measley pounds the guy is not worth it.

The similarities seem intriguing but like you said…mean very little. Can’t wait to hear the end result of the date….
